Sure, it simulates ripe or rotting fruit, they don’t know the difference.
You need to make a trap, use a 2 L plastic pop bottle.
Cut around below the narrowing kneck, & invert top inside bottom.
Fasten with staples & tape around cut edges, put vinegar & soap in.
The vinegar attracts them, the soapy water overcomes surface tension.
