I would go with a real nice red wine, maby a red bordoe
if its a beef stir fry a chiraz would be just perfect.
Louis Jadot 2004 Beaujolais-Villages $14.
If it’s a Chinese beef stir fry, you’re actually better off going with beer, but if you’re going to do wine, I’m a big fan of Gewurztraminer. Even though it’s white, the fruit and spice is a nice compliment. You could also do a rose.
If you’re doing a Thai-styled stir fry, then Beaujolais-Villages (I like Louis Jadot, personally). There’s also Monsoon Valley, a wine from Thailand that pairs exceptionally well with the flavors in that kind of food.
I’m in agreement with a red wine, and price-wise your best bet will be Cost Plus World Market. They have an amazing selection of wonderful wines and they’re CHEAP!
I’d recommend an excellent red Zinfandel. Strongly flavored food begs for a sturdy Zin.
If you’re not sure ask at the best wine store in your area – they have knowledge and have a vested interest in you’re being a happy customer who will come back!
A question :: if some people can’t spell should they’re opinions be disregarded?

i was going to answers this one but ” thenaked “said EXACTLY what i was going to recomend
I agree that Gewurtraminer would be a good choice. For less than $10 you can get a bottle of Fetzer Gewurtraminer….it’s available most places.
Another possibility for around the same price is:
Columbia Winery 2006 Gewurztraminer
Pale straw yellow color. Hints of allspice and pink grapefruit accent the sweet fruit palate. Crisp finish with a good balance of acidity. Versatile with food, especially with spicy
