a gift certificate to a wine maker
a wine tasting box (has the stuff you smell before you taste)

well most people compliment wine with cheese and crackers, fruit, such as grapes and strawberries, small boxes of choclates, ect
wine glass markers
decreative corks
new wine bottle opener
chocolates
crackers and cheese
candles
I live in wine country ( Napa ) so take it from me…. chocolate, cheese, a cute little cheese knife, a wine opener, and maybe some water crackers if you put cheese in the basket. Wine goes really well with chocolate as well as cheese so little things like that make for a great gift basket. Good luck

Seriously, I think most of the great ideas have already been listed. The only other thing I can think to suggest would be monogrammed cocktail napkins?
How about some cheese and crackers????
A fancy wine opener, cheese and crackers, some wine glasses, and maybe some pasta, as long as the wine goes with a pasta dinner……maybe a gift certificate to a local winery for wine tasting. Be creative and use your imagination, I can go on, but I will keep this rated G….okay PG13.
Go to Tabletop tools.com, they have a wine opener that uses a needle like point with a little gas cartridge in it. You insert the point into the cork and press a button releasing the gas inside the bottle forcing the cork out. I gave this to my mom and she liked so much she started giving them away as gifts to her friends.
You could put any of the following:
Double-hinged corkscrew
Icewine chocolates
Wine jellies or jams
A wine stopper or two
Wine glasses
Check with your local wine shop to see what other small items they carry.
If the person loves wine already – I’d avoid the corkscrew or the glasses. Chances are they already have several corkscrews and already have good glasses.
I’d put in a few bottles of wine, some crackers, some chocolates, possibly some cheese (if you will be giving it to them where they can refrigerate it within 3 hours), some *travel* wine glasses, some fun wine stoppers, some pithy wine coasters, and perhaps a few books like ‘the wine lover’s dessert cookbook’ or ‘the cheese course’. If you are near wineries, see if you can get a few tasting certificates for them. I’d even consider doing some really high end pasta sauce and a artisan pasta – most gourmet shops and some wine shops will carry this type of thing.

Try including fine crackers, delicious cheese (like Spanish Manchego or French Brie), stuffed olives, maybe some dried fruit, pate, and two beautiful wine glasses, or maybe a decanter…
well you could get that person some really nice wine glass’s. or some chocolate. the best thing to eat with wine is desert.
