Try to see if they have any magnums of Chateau d’Yquem from Sauternes from the early 1900′s. Some of the vintages from the thirties are just becoming mature now. Will probably cost you $20,000 to $30,000 per bottle.

Most Rieslings are fairly sweet, albeit dry.

A Reisling would be your answer. Something not dry. Or just try a white zinfandel (which will actually be pink in color) if they have it there in Germany. A Pinot Grigio is mild and tasty but not sweet.

In nicer restaurants, the wait staff is fairly knowledgeable about wine. Some even have a special person for just the wine.

I’d try asking your waitperson for a wine most similar to your brand. It’s worth a shot!

Try a nice Reisling. Make sure you tell them you don’t want a dry variety. Or for a special treat, ask them if they have a nice Eiswein (sometimes called icewine). It’s very sweet.
