What is a great red wine for someone who loves riesling?

Which red wines would you recommend for people who like the sweet taste of a riesling?
(p.s. I know riesling is a white wine, but I want to start drinking more red wine)

Try a Beaujolais. They’re nice and light and sweet, and tend to go well with many foods.
I am not a fan of sweet wines, but you may want to start with a White Zin or a White Merlot. If you want to be more adventurous, you may want to check out a Cabernet Franc, or possibly something along the lines of Petite Syrah.
I have had a Cab Franc before, and enjoyed it.
I love Riesling too, the only red wine I really care for is Red Rose’. It is pretty sweet for a red wine.
Wine is an acquired taste, so if you’d like to start drinking more red, you’ll definitely want to start with the lighter wines (especially since you’re a fan of Riesling). Red wine tends to be alot drier than white wines.
My suggestion would be to first try to transition into drier white wines. Start with a Dry Rieseling then move on to Chardonnay. Then, transitioning to red wines, you could try starting with Pinot Noir. It tends to be much lighter, and not as heavy on the tannins. Believe me, I used to be big on the sweet wines too, transitioned to reds and now I’m a fan of big flavored dry wines. It took awhile though.

I would start with a Shiraz.. they are generally wet and sweet, but I LOVE me a good Cabernet Sauvignon.
Rose wine is terrible and Merlot is not one to START with as it is thick and generally bitter.
Try a Dornfelder, like Schlink Haus Red Wine. It’s usually in the German wine section next to the Rieslings.
You would probably like a good jammy (Red of course) Zinfandel, especially one labelled ‘old vines’. Try Toasted Head ‘Gnarly Vines’ or Rancho Zabaco single-vineyard/Russian River Valley (not ‘California’).
