What is a good wine for a new wine taster?

I am a huge wine drinker, love it, but my boyfriend is your typical beer drinker or hard liquor. What type of wine (from a guys point of view) should I get him to try at first and then slowly get him trying other things while he acquires a taste for it?

if you can find it at your local liquor mart or saq if you are in quebec, a great wine of choice is chianti or merlot for red or pinot griggio for white. Chianti goes well with red meats and chicken, whereas pinot griggio goes well with seafood. I am not an alcoholic, I just live to eat.
well if you like sweeter alcohol, go for an arbor mist wine. if you’d like the dryer side, try a merlot, which is a red wine. i prefer white wine, such as pinot grigio and chardonnay. white wine is also normally a dry wine. try those
Have him try Robert Mondavi Pinot Noir for a red wine, and sutter home white zinfandel for a white/blush wine. Both of those are good and somewhat sweet and pretty affordable as well.
The best thing for you to do would be to have the two of you go to a wine tasting. Host one in your own home. I work for a company that does in home wine tastings. Its a great way to sample up to six bottles of wine. There you will be able to sample Rieslings, buttery Chardonnays, Viogner’s, Rosato’s, etc.
If that is not available in your state then try a local vineyard or winery and sample whatever you can.
Its really hard to say what he would like because it all comes down to taste.
Good Luck in your venture! Don’t be afraid to just keep sampling! It would be good for you and him!
Hope This Helps!

Yep… I would host a wine taster event… get a wine merchant or liquor representative and host an event. You’ll luv the results… and you’ll meet the “best-of-friends” too !!
