What is a good, inexpensive wine to go with the clam linguine that I’m cooking?

I like to cook, and my husband likes having wine with the meals I make. Which wines get paired up best with which foods? Are you supposed to drink red wines with certain dishes? Please give some examples of some different wines that we can try that are readily found in the supermarket.

I have been to alot of wineries and if you are looking for an inexpensive wine to go with that dish, go with Bel Arbor Chardonnay. It is inexpensive and very tasty.

Look for Berger Greuner Veltliner. Greuner Veltliner is one fun to say and two very light and clean. Berger is my favorite. The grape itself is from Austria and very light and airy. Imagine what sierra mist would be if it were a wine and there you go. Oh it only comes in a 1 ltr bottle and shoud not be any more than $11. A SUPER DEAL!!!

Any type of Chenin Blanc. Costs about 8-20 and found at most stores.

Any of the boxed white wines are good. And there is enough there for a few more meals or to get a load on.

most wines you find inthe super maket are going to be inexpensive and most ofthe time you only find name brands. it hard to find a good bordeux(french) or barbaresco(italian) but you still can find some good drinking wines.
now to pair you first have to taste the wine so when you have the chance pick and wine remember you tring to find different tastes so be adventerous. yellow tail, livingston, turning leaf all have different types of veriatel s to choose from. (muscate, sav blanc, shiraz, nebbiola, sangiovese, chenin blanc) these are veriatels that are not the norm but have differnt tastes
when you have tried it and you like it do some research and find out hwere these veriatels are made the best. sangiovese for example is the main grape in chianti and super tuscans (chiantis are blend with white grapes and the ST are blended with merlot and sometimes cabernet sav) nebbiola is the grape in barbarescos and barolios. all red wine coming form burgandy is made from pinot nior and the whites are chardonnay. here i go getting off the subject
now to taste the pairing should be extrems or like.
sounds funny i know but here is an example
sweet and spicy (sav blanc and thia or south western)
sharp and heavy (a european chardonny and chicken alfredo)
round and savoury (fat butter american char and filet)
dry and savoury (merlot or ST and filet)
but for your clam i would either do a orvieto made by antinori (you should be able to find it in a good grocery store )or a nice champagne or spakling wine (i know champagne is for celebations but what the hell its monday a good day to celebrate) champagne is always good with seafood especially with raw seafood (oysters) so what ever you try it all up to you only u can know what you will like but you have to try it first so have fun and have one for me

for cooking get wine from a grocery store, or a liquor store if your market doesn’t carry it. Don’t get the $1 a gallon variety, but get the cheaper wine.
