I’m pretty sure vinegar made from wine that has aged longer. I don’t think it is a concoction of the two.
Hmm. Good question! Probably not, but so what? It can’t taste that different. I say try it! Cooking is all about experimentation.
It might look similar but it won’t taste the same. Red wine vinegar is not just vinegar with wine added to it, it’s prepared differently.
NO! This proposed mixture of your will taste nothing like Red Wine Vinegar.
If white vinegar is all you have use it alone, just dilute it a bit with some water. White vinegar has a bit higher acidity then Red Wine Vinegar, that’s why I say dilute it.

I make my own red wine vinegar. It is not white wine vinegar with red wine added.
The process begins and ends with red wine that has aged and turned into vinegar.
