Cocktail reception for 70 people. Serving wine at the beginning and once that has finished then a cash bar will open. How many bottles do I need?
Sorry forgot to mention that we would serve wine for 2 hrs not one. How many glasses per guest per hr?

A typical bottle of wine yields 4-6 glasses, depending on size. I’d say 14-16 bottles should be okay.
Average on 4 to 5 glasses of wine to a bottle
I’d say buy 20 bottles to be safe.

I would go with 20 bottles to be safe. The winery that I use offers a discount for cases of wine. They are called The Winfield Winery and you can check their website at. They have a great selection and the wines are fabulous!!
i would say 2-3 glasses per hour. plus there will be those who dont drink at all or maybe just one glass. so that should be plenty.
