How long can you keep a bottle of wine?

My husband gave me a bottle of Riesling about a year ago. We don’t drink often and were saving it for a special occasion…I had it stored in my wine rack in the kitchen, which of course is at a comfortable temperature year-round. Even though it was in plain sight over the past year, I forgot about it and am wondering if it is still okay to drink.

I know the aged wine is better, but I thought that was when it was stored in a proper wine cellar.

as long as you keep the cork moist then a very long time
of course! wine gets much better with age. many people store it for decades before touching it

It’s good until you open it! As long as it’s sealed and within a normal temperature range it’s fine. Pop it open and enjoy!
Oldest bottle of wine over 600 years old. There are older ones but they may have health risks. It’s ONLY been a year… I’m 14 and I know that…
It’s fine, as long as it’s not open it’ll keep for years. Unless something is wrong with the cork itself, which you can’t find out until you open it.
They will last a years in the right Temp. Once open it will last 2 to 3 days before it’s starts to lose it rich flavor.

once it is opened though keep it on its side to prevent air from entering the bottle from the cork
if that happens it will to develop a vinegar smell and taste.
Riesling is one of the white wines that tends to age well. If it’s a dry Riesling, it should improve for another five years or more. Sweet Riesling will keep indefinitely. Temperature variation is more damaging to wine than than storage at the wrong temperature, unless it’s hot all the time. If your kitchen isn’t air conditioned, you might consider storing the bottle, on its side, in the refrigerator until that special occasion rolls around.
