Anything drinkable and dry. Barefoot chardonnay is a great wine for the price (I’m not crazy about Barefoot pinot grigio, though). I’ve also used Cavit pinot grigio when cooking seafood. In fact, I’ve probably cooked mussels a dozen times in Cavit pg. It works quite well.
i use the cheap Goya Red and White wine in the Goya section of the market …its 3.00
some people only cook with wine they will drink so Yellowtail makes a good white wine and its about 13.00
i make those clams often. i add garlic, lemon juice, white wine, butter and i seal them in a pan snd throw them on the grill..they are awesome
well ask yourself “would it be a wine you like drinking?” because your finished dish is only going to be as good as the ingredients that go into it.
dry wines like Sauvignon Blanc is perfect for beginners who is just expirimenting cooking with wines.
Chardonnay is for more advanced who can deal with the relatively larger degree of acidity surfacing when Chardonnay wine is reduced.
white wines can be pricey but generic brands work fine also
