A question from jacky: Is there a typical or standard type of wine that most people would have at home?
I know nothing about wine but I do know that there are a vast number of types ranging in price and I’m curious to know what type/kind of red or white does the typical wine drinker have at home? What is the wine that is standard or considered to be a fixture for most? Brand Name referrals would be great…thanks in advance for your input.

Can anyone here recommend a good way to go about going wine tasting up in Santa Barbara?
I’ve got a group of 8 people going this weekend. We are staying out near State St in downtown Santa Barbara.
We would like to go wine tasting on Saturday and we are all on a budget.
Any suggestions on where to go and transportation to and from each location?

I’d like to spend three or four hours wine tasting at 3-5 wineries in Paso. If you can recommend affordable transportation for four people, it would be appreciated. Thanks!

I would like to give my parents a nice bottle of wine for a gift. They are paying for my wedding and they are wine people so I want to get them something special that they would normally not buy for themselves. Maybe something around $100-$150/bottle? I would also like the brand to be something that people who are into wine will know about. Any suggestions? Red or White, it does not matter.

I am not a big white wine drinker, but will be serving it along with beer and hard alcohol at my wedding. I am just looking for a nice white wine that will not cost me an arm and leg to serve to 300 people.

ProblemSolver Rx asked: I love the sweet taste of riesling, and I have had some red wines in the past that I enjoyed but do not remember their names.
Which red wines would you recommend for people who like the sweet taste of a riesling?
(p.s. I know riesling is a white wine, but I want to start drinking more red wine)
Thanks!!
