A question asked by Loving Kitty: This was a poem about the love between a vampire and a guy. any improvements or tips?
Torn

He sees the pure white mist,
Every inch of land, by the moon, kissed,
The land sings the moons croon,
A mysterious, alluring tune.

This black night has begun,
What I will do, cannot be undone,
Tonight, on him I dine,
I immerse myself in fine red wine.

But I am torn between,
His blood and the man who calls me queen,
Should i want what’s mine?
I long for us both to intertwine.

The rhythm of his pulse,
Should I deny my killing impulse,
Touch my lips to his skin
at the burning dip under his chin.

A kiss, It is not smart,
I love the beating of his warm heart,
Shoud it stop with a bight?
And stop our loves angelic delight?

No. No he cannot die,
Our love should be allowed soar, fly.
Ignore his lovely taste,
A love like this cannot go to waste.

Answer by hard_edge_chef
wow, one man among four women.., boy you gonna have some fun… he he

anyway, if no meal being served.., why dont you try to add a meal.., maybe snacks like chees crakers or maybe cheese platter…, because wine is very good serve with cheese as a snack, i give you an example…

if you planning to bring a white wine, try to also bring brie cheese or danish blue,

if you planning to bring the red, edam cheese or gorgonzolla would be nice.

How fast would bad wine cause a reaction?

A question asked by Carol S: How fast would bad wine cause a reaction?
I opened a bottle of wine I’d just bought last night. Within 30 minutes of taking the first drink, I started feeling ill (stomach cramps). I am a regular drinker and wine afficionado, and have never felt anything similar. My husband also started feeling ill.
The wine didn’t taste or smell strange but the cork was dry and brittle.
Could we have gotten food poisoning from a bottle of wine? It was the only thing we consumed that was the same?

Chosen answer:

Answer by Bert C
No. Bad wine is just vinegar and you would have noticed the change in taste. If it was the wine that made you sick I would think it had been tampered with rather than gone bad. The dry cork seems to argue for tampering as well.

Also, food poisoning usually takes a good deal longer than 30 minutes to manifest itself. Is it possible you both ate something the night before or yesterday morning that might have been off?

Question by Ashley T: What are the best wines to use for a blind wine tasting party?
We would like to do a range of red and white wines and will probably have 20 people at the party so don’t want to have to buy really expensive wines.

Question by Constant_Traveler: Ladies, how do you prevent red wine stained lips at a nice restaurant or wine tasting?
I always end up with weird looking stained lips when I drink red wine. Does anyone have any good tips to prevent this?

Best answer:

Answer by Candice B
I don’t drink red wine but I might try putting a thick lip gloss on before drinking. And periodically going to the restroom and rinse your mouth out with water. Maybe that would help!

How does wine taste good?

Question by Corruption: How does wine taste good?
I feel like all alcoholic beverages take like crap. I know most people do not drink alcohol for the taste but for the effect, such as beer and hard liquor. However, many people drink wine for the taste. I’ve tried many types of wine and I still think it tastes horrible, so how do people stand drinking wine for the taste?

Chosen answer:

Answer by Aaron Grycner
Its simply a matter (from my experience) of drinking enough until you can appreciate the different nuances between good and bad wine. Much like coffee which i think sill tastes disgusting.

Recommendations on wine presses, anyone?

Question posed by margot: Recommendations on wine presses, anyone?
I posted this elsewhere but did not get a specific enough reply. I am looking for an efficient, economical (best value) type wine press for doing volume work. My friend makes 100 egg rolls at a time and wants to use a wine press to get the water out of the veggies. Please don’t tell me not to do this. Just tell me what you know about wine presses…the cheap, the moderately priced, the expensive, and which one might be up for this job.

Thanks in advance!
Margot

Frankly, I don’t think many on here would have experience with a wine press. Is there a wine making supply store in the city where you live? If so, go talk to them. A wine press is expensive, and some of the better shops will have one that they rent out.

***** added info *****

Here’s a site that has some no frills presses that run from $ 230 to $ 430.
