How do I learn to enjoy wine?

ScottB asked:

I want to become a wine drinker but so far do not enjoy the taste of wine. Does anyone have any suggestions or comments on how to become a wine enthusiast?

I’m making Wild Mushroom Bisque and the recipe calls for a dry white wine. I’ve got some Chardonnay, does that count?

Hello. I am considering going to culinary school but I was told by someone who used to attend it that you have to taste wine. I don’t drink alchohol because of my religion & my health. Can anyone offer me some advice? Is wine tasting a requirement for studying culinary arts? Thanks.

Is there an objective standard that would prompt two tasters to identify the same taste characteristics in a wine or are tasting notes totally subjective?

Merry Christmas! <3

Okay, so we want to give our guests wine today, but I heard that
white wine has to be cold and red wine has to be a bit warm?

Can anyone give me some info on this please? Because I also heard that white wine tastes like nothing when it's t???? cold and the same with red wine when it's too warm.

Okay, thank you! <3

i want to go with my friends at the napa county and go wine tasting. However, we are in a budget. Is there a way to go wine tasting in several places without spending more than $10 for each place we go.

Btw, we never went wine tasting, and we want to learn how to properly identify wines and such.

I heard that red wine is healthier than white wine, in terms of calories, antioxidants etc. Is this true, and does it depend on the grape variety or the age of the wine?
Edit: Thanks for the answers so far, some of which have pointed out the benefits of one glass of red wine. I’m a big fan of vino rosso, and drink roughly a bottle a day… am I still getting any health benefits, notwithstanding the effects of the alcohol?

Gruyere cheese for wine tasting party?

Lori S asked:

I know Gruyere is great in gratin-but is it suitable for a wine tasting? I have not tried it unmelted… : )

Any ideas as far as presentation appreciated!
I have a couple of bottles of Auslese and Eiswein-does this pair well?
